Roc-Escape
The Cyber Escape Room

Security awareness training your team will actually remember: a live, competitive escape room where teams investigate a breach across a fake internet, real props and a race-the-clock leaderboard.

Roc-Escape, from Coria and Roc Technologies, turns security awareness into an event. A cyber incident has hit a fictional organisation, and each team has one hour to work out who did it, why, and which systems were compromised, using everything on their table and everything they can find online. The catch: the entire internet they are investigating is ours, built to be explored, and completely sealed off from the real one.

12

tables run concurrently at its first live event

~100

players in a single conference session

60

minutes of play, extendable per table

1

laptop per table; everything else is provided

First deployed at a live conference: twelve tables, one leaderboard, one very loud final minute.

How an event runs

01

The briefing

Teams press the button on their table speaker. The Handler voicemail plays, the clock starts and the room goes quiet very quickly.

02

The investigation

Scan staff badges, read the SOC logs, follow the phishing trail through inboxes and social profiles, and take what you learn online back to the locks and props on the table.

03

The race

Every stage solved climbs the leaderboard. Wrong answers buzz and count against you; hints are available but they show on the board.

04

The debrief

When time is up, the facilitator walks through what really happened: who clicked what, which team gave its credentials away, and what each puzzle teaches back in the real world.

More than a quiz with a timer

Roc-Escape is a purpose-built platform, not a slide deck. These are the pieces that make it land.

A whole fake internet

Teams investigate across convincing replicas of Gmail, LinkedIn, a SOC dashboard, a dark-web forum and more. Every site is part of the story, and nothing touches the real internet: the entire environment is isolated and safe.

Physical puzzles, digital clues

NFC staff badges, combination-locked bags, a letter cryptex and other bespoke props are woven into the investigation. What you find online opens things on the table, and what you unlock on the table moves the story on screen.

A story with a voice

A mysterious Handler briefs each team by voicemail through a speaker on their table, stage by stage. Suspects, red herrings and a final interrogation give the hour a proper narrative arc, not a quiz sheet.

One GO button, one leaderboard

Every table starts at the same second. A big-screen leaderboard tracks stage progress, wrong attempts and hints live, with a countdown that turns the last minutes into a proper race.

A debrief with receipts

The platform records what each team clicked, which credentials they handed to the phishing portal and where they hesitated. The debrief maps it all back to real awareness topics, which is where the learning lands.

Re-skinnable scenarios

An AI-assisted, no-code builder generates and edits complete scenarios: story, characters, emails, logs and voice lines. The same event can be themed to your organisation, your sector or a fictional company.

What it teaches

Every puzzle maps to a real security awareness topic, so the fun carries a payload:

Phishing and credential theft
Insider threat
OSINT and social media exposure
Social engineering
Access control and least privilege
Dark web awareness
Log analysis and breach scoping
Incident response

Flagship scenario

The University Breach

A student data breach at a fictional university. Teams scan staff badges to identify suspects, dig through SOC logs and social profiles, fall for (or spot) a phishing portal, trade on a dark-web forum, and interrogate a chatbot boss to name the insider, the motive and the compromised systems.

Scenarios are fully re-skinnable: the AI-assisted builder can generate a new story, cast and evidence trail themed to your organisation or sector, with no code involved.
