Introducing Digital Cost Assurance
By Ian Leaver · 18 June 2026
Every major infrastructure programme carries the same quiet risk: cost. On projects worth £300 million and more, assurance has too often been a retrospective exercise — checks bolted on after the decisions are made, findings that surface too late to change the outcome. The result is familiar to anyone who has delivered at this scale: overruns explained, rarely prevented.
Digital Cost Assurance changes that. Launching on 1 July 2026, DCA is a platform that builds assurance into a programme from the start, rather than auditing it at the end. It gives the people accountable for billions in public and private investment a clear, continuous and defensible view of cost — so confidence is designed in, not reconstructed after the fact.
Coria built DCA for the organisations that own and steward the UK’s largest programmes, bringing rigour and transparency to cost assurance at a scale where small percentages become very large numbers. For the contractors and consultancies delivering those programmes, it marks a shift worth watching: assurance becoming faster, more transparent and genuinely digital.
“Cost assurance on major infrastructure has been waiting for this for a long time. We’ve stopped treating assurance as something you do to a project after the event, and started treating it as something you build in from day one. That changes the conversation — from explaining what went wrong to making sure it goes right.”
